stylescout finals + giveaway!

I made it into the finals of Fashion Fast Forward Style Scout hunt (Remember the Ben Sherman post I did?) and I'm SO Excited! The final showdown is on the 14th of May at the Topman Topshop Knightbridge store in the evening and I can't wait for it! It's a mannequin styling contest and it's gonna be amazing!

Wish me luck! I'll put up outfit and mannequin pictures later and I know they're going to be SO awesome so hang on for those!

Also, I have 2 pair of entries for the final event on Saturday in the evening, so if you're in Singapore and you'd like to come, leave me a comment with Facebook profile links/email addresses below and I'll pick winners at random to come see me and the other supertalented finalists in action! It's gonna be cra-mazing!

Random Post.

So I just realised I haven't shown you guys the dress I designed for the Artsfest in my University. Basically a total of 10 designers were selected from all over the city to showcase a design, with the theme being, "Clothes are dead and Fashion is Alive!" I got chosen and this is what I showcased. I used raw silk for the dress and crinoline lining. The skirt is embellished with a hundred odd fresh roses and the neckpiece and belt are leftover rose stems.
Chic or chic?

Next is very interesting street art I found near where I live. The material used was duct tape and it was made on a post box. I think its incredibly creative, and so emo. It brings out the little emo kid in me. :)

And last but not least, this is a cake I made last year. Considering I made it at complete short notice with nothing but cake mix at hand, I think I did a pretty good job of improvising. The icing is full cream milk, butter and drinking chocolate and the sprinkles are actually breakfast cereal bits.

:D

Don't you just love it when you see an Indian designer on the red carpet? And not just a big name but like a true-blue Indian designer who's just being recognised on the international fashion landscape.

I heart Katy Perry.
